Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Asset Management the position is a senior sub-regional leader responsible for the investment/operational strategy for a multi-family portfolio of existing and planned projects within the Southern Region.  The position is both strategic and operational in nature supporting the development of and responsibility for the implementation of comprehensive business plans, programs, initiatives, and strategies that promote the optimization of operational and financial performance of the multi-family asset management function within the Southern Region.  The position is the business lead for interaction between the portfolio and third-party management teams working on the projects and as a consultant for the development teams seeking entitlement of multi-family projects from within the existing portfolio.

 

Essential Duties

  • Collaborate with the Regional President and Vice President of Asset Management and others on the regional leadership team in advancing the business plans for each multi-family property (existing and planned) in the region
  • Oversee third-party operations of an existing portfolio of 1800 units including the negotiation of operating/management agreements
  • Oversee financial reporting and performance metrics and strategies of all third-party multi-family operations teams
  • Provide guidance and operational consultation to the Southern Region’s development teams regarding multi-family sites under consideration/entitlement
  • Manage third party market research for existing and planned multi-family investments
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a positive and collaborative team-oriented culture and instill such in the sub-regional staff
  • Design and implement business strategies that improve profitability of the multi-family portfolio
  • Review and update budget to actual performance for all multi-family sites in the Southern Region as well as development and redevelopment projects
  • Participate in the preparation of studies, reports, and analysis in areas such as budgets, financial plans, cash flow projections and business forecasts that support the investment decisions surrounding the Southern Region multi-family portfolio

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience. 
  • 5+ years of multi-family real estate operational and financial experience including operations, marketing, financial analysis, and portfolio management
  • Strong leadership / management abilities
  • Coach and play -- willingness to get in the trenches and lead by example
  • Financially oriented strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to embrace technologies that advance business strategy
