Based in Kimco’s southern region and reporting to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications, with a dotted line to the Regional Vice Presidents, the Director of Marketing is responsible for two primary areas:

  1. B2B Leasing Support - Developing and executing marketing campaigns to support regional leasing activities, including email blasts, digital/social campaigns, and other custom marketing collateral. The Marketing Director serves as the main point of contact for the Leasing department on sales materials and sales enablement tools, as well as establishing new lead generation opportunities.
  2. B2C Site Activation Planning and implementing center marketing and community/public relations programs across Kimco’s West Coast shopping center portfolio. Marketing strategies are focused on driving consumer traffic, supporting and increasing retailer sales, and engaging communities, all with the goal of enhancing property value and boosting Kimco’s perception amongst shoppers and communities. 

The specific duties of this position are as follows:

  • Serve in a consultative role with internal clients to develop marketing strategy, tactics and collateral in order to lease space
  • Responsible for the oversight, coordination and execution of property marketing plans and programs in conjunction with the Leasing and Property Management teams
  • Responsible for the management of marketing funds, including budget preparation, negotiating to maximize spend and adjusting to account for changes in income or strategy
  • Work in partnership with Ancillary Income/Specialty Leasing to source sponsorship/partnership marketing opportunities
  • Collaborate with the corporate Marketing Operations team, primarily Research and Graphic Design, to develop best-in-class sales materials that effectively deliver the sales message
  • Oversee marketing agency partners and consultants
  • Stay informed and up to date on industry knowledge, trends and competition in order to provide relevant, thoughtful insight and initiate ideas for testing new marketing channels, campaigns and concepts


The ideal candidate will have a developed knowledge of marketing commercial real estate, with a minimum 5 years of retail real estate marketing experience strongly preferred.  The position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent people and communication skills, who can provide top-notch customer service to internal clients.  The ability to work independently while managing multiple projects

and deadlines is critical. Prior knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) platforms and digital marketing tools is a prerequisite.  The candidate should have a 4-year degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Periodic travel is required.
