    *****Unless specifically contracted, resumes from recruiting agencies are not being accepted for this position.****** We are currently seeking an Associate Director of Development to support retail, mixed-use residential and hospitality-focused redevelopment and development projects in the region. The Associate Director will manage the entire project entitlement process, interact with retailers and municipalities, prepare valuation models, analyze development scenarios for new and existing assets, and assist in project design and planning. This role will also oversee project consultant teams (land use attorneys, architects, engineers, etc.), research municipal land use and zoning requirements, and coordinate with internal leasing, construction, and property management teams. The right candidate will have strong planning and organization skills to ensure follow-through, the ability to notice and act on details while also processing the big picture of a project, the ability to synthesize complex or diverse information, using intuition and experience to complement data, and strong quantitative abilities with solid knowledge of financial modeling.


    • 4 year degree in business, architecture, civil engineering or construction management is required
    • Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in real estate development
    • Prior experience in zoning, entitlements and land-use issues
    • Prior experience as practicing civil engineer or architect a plus
    • Prior experience with Acquisitions and Dispositions including underwriting, due diligence and asset valuation also a plus
    • Prior experience in commercial retail real estate, ideally including mixed-use residential
    • Strong background in cost estimating, entitlement procurement and project underwriting
    • Ability to travel regularly to project sites, acquisition targets and permitting agencies.  Some overnight travel and nighttime public hearings may be required
    • Experience dealing with local, state and federal permitting agencies
    • Strong MS Office skills, specifically in Excel, Word and Power Point
    • Familiarity with ARGUS preferred
